I can't quite explain it, but I can tell you this: ever since daylight savings time last week, my cats have been out of control.  This isn’t all necessarily new behavior, but they are chasing invisible shadows like never before; scaling curtains to bold and valiant heights; and clawing furniture like it’s going out of style. When we gained that one hour, my cats gained a whole new bag of tricks. At the end of the day, however, I still love them and know that one day I will be able to look back and share the slightly odd, sometimes gross, and often hilarious stories of the times I was absolutely certain that my cats were  doing all of this on purpose.

Whether you can personally relate to the exhilarating antics of cohabitation with a mischievous animal, or you just get a good chuckle from seeing or hearing about the sticky situations animals may get themselves into, you are not alone. If the hilarious video compilations on YouTube capturing animals in the act of being naughty aren't enough to convince you of this, here are a few of my favorite books highlighting the calamity that can ensue when animals start behaving badly (I may even try to read one to my cats…if I can get them to sit still long enough):
