Books, books, books; I can never get enough books! That being said, even though I have the amazing opportunity of sharing the stories I love with people every day, there are only so many library books I can have checked out for personal reading before I start feeling guilty. This is why it’s doubly important for me that I keep up on my personal library to ensure there is always a good book within reach.
Luckily, the Friends of the Library have me covered. Eight of the Kitsap Regional Libraries have Friends groups composed of volunteers that work tirelessly to raise money for library programs and other areas of library support. One of these methods of fundraising comes by hosting book sales throughout the year which offer books, DVD’s, music CD’s, and more for sale at a mere fraction of the cost. Some library locations host semi-regular or on-going sales with multiple opportunities to find favorites and save money. Other locations like Poulsbo and Sylvan Way, both with sales coming up next month, have larger book sales 3 or 4 times a year. Take a peek at our online calendar to find a book sale at a Kitsap Regional Library location near you.
Taking a trip this summer and need an easy book to travel with? Peruse one of the library book sales for a quick and easy paperback for traveling. Need something to entertain a little one in the car on a long trip? These sales are the place to find new and old favorites, whether it be books, movies, or music! Are you like me, and you just can’t seem to have enough books surrounding you? Look into one of the many book sales happening this summer to beef up your collection and make those bookshelves happy. There is something for everyone, and the proceeds all go back into supporting your local library. That sounds like a deal to me.
