Having trouble getting library books onto your Kindle?  Below are some common problems and the strategies to get around them.  Still having trouble?  See Additional Support at the end of today’s post.

OverDrive says your library card is invalid.

  • OverDrive doesn’t recognize usernames, so be sure to sign in with your card number starting with either PACREG or 29068 (no spaces.)

You remember going to Amazon when you downloaded, but the book isn't on your Kindle.

  • Let’s check your Amazon account.
  1. First, make sure you’re signed into your account. 
  2. Then, go to ‘Manage Your Content and Devices.’
  3. Next, click the ‘Actions’ button next to the title.
  4. Finally, click ‘deliver’ and choose a device.

You can’t find the Kindle Book on your Kindle.

  1. First, go to the OverDrive catalog, krl.lib.overdrive.com
  2. Then, sign into your account and go to your checkouts folder.
  3. Tap ‘Download,’ ‘Kindle Book,’ and ‘Confirm & get Kindle Book.’
  4. At the Amazon website and before you tap 'Get Library Book', make sure you're delivering the book to the correct device.

You were reading it, but now you can’t find it.

  1. First, go to the OverDrive catalog, krl.lib.overdrive.com
  2. Then, sign into your account and go to your checkouts folder.
  3. Tap ‘Download,’ ‘Kindle Book,’ and ‘Confirm & get Kindle Book.’
  4. Finally, go to your device’s home page to find the title.
