Free Comic Book Day may have come and gone (it was on Saturday, May 6, this year), but you can still borrow comics and graphic novels from your public library—for free! Whether you enjoy Big Nate, Calvin & Hobbes, Garfield, Foxtrot or Tintin, there’s something in the Kitsap Regional Library Comic collection for you. And if we don’t have what you’re looking for, please let us know.

A lot of readers enjoy comics and graphic novels featuring strong girls. While there are now many such series, the ones displayed in the book carousel below have become some of our favorites and avid readers can hardly wait for the next installments. Maybe you, too, will enjoy the swashbuckling spirit of orphaned circus acrobat Dessa Redd, the can-do attitude that turns Zita the Spacegirl into an intergalactic hero, the adventures of the always-intrepid Nancy Drew or the story of Princess Adrienne, who is so tired of being locked in a tower that she rescues herself.

So many great comic books and graphic novels are available in your local public library, that the wait for Free Comic Book Day 2018 (Saturday, May 5) will end before you know it.  Happy reading!
