Spring is here, which means Mother’s and Father’s Days are right around the corner! Need a last-minute gift idea for a favorite parental figure in your life? On April 26th, I will be hosting Project Maker: Mason Jar Planters at the Poulsbo Library from 3:30-5pm in our Community Room. Kitsap Regional Library is offering a similar program for adults, but the one at Poulsbo is particularly aimed at kids.
We will start by decorating a mason jar with washi tape, stickers, and markers. Be as creative as you dare—embellishing the jar is half the fun. You then have the option of transplanting a succulent (easy to take care of) or a strawberry plant (yum). Afterward we will talk about gardening and proper plant care. All supplies are provided in this free program, but you do need to register here beforehand as there are only so many available spots.
Check out my creation below. You can make and give a planter to someone you love or keep it for yourself!
I hope to see you there. Take a look at the books below for some great maker and gardener inspiration.
