It's common knowledge that the library caters to your research and entertainment needs. You visit the library to do homework, to borrow books or dvds, to use a computer, and even to make copies. But did you know that the library can be a place for activities beyond these common uses? Visiting the library not only provides a work out for your mind and imagination, but can also offer programs for your whole body.
Take a look at the latest Inspire catalog of events, available at all library locations. There's topics like Arts & Culture, with adult coloring programs that allow you to relax, have fun and express your creativity. Flip over to the DIY & Crafts section for workshops where you can make jewelry, soap, and other crafts -- all free and supplies included! If you're tired of knitting or crocheting alone, or need help with your stitches join one of the library's groups, listed on page 9.
Did you know that you can come to library a take a walk? Look under Health & Wellness to read more about the walking club at the Port Orchard and the Sylvan Way libraries. Join them for an hour every week for a fun, invigorating urban stroll.
What else can you do at the library? In February the Poulsbo Lions club will be onsite at the library to perform free vision screening for all ages. (See page 10 for details). Also, at the Sylvan Way library on January 19th come meet life coach Johanna Branley who will talk about adults undergoing transition in a program called Time for a Change. You will walk away inspired, with a map for creating the life you want to live!
So, if you thought the library events catalog -- Inspire -- was filled with book clubs and baby storytimes, think again! Oh, they're in there too, but Kitsap Regional Library offers so much more for adults than you could even imagine. KRL truly is the place in Kitsap County where everyone can dream, learn, do and be.
Pick up a copy today and come be inspired with me. I can't wait to see you at the next library event!
