It’s happened to the best of us. You’re in a long queue for a bestseller and getting to the top of the list, but about to leave for vacation and are nervous that you’ll lose your place in line.
What to do?
Suspend hold is a helpful function that allows you to keep your place on the hold list but will prevent the library from delivering the item before you’re ready. It’s like putting a pause on your hold; you don’t move forward in the queue, but you do maintain your current spot. Using suspend hold, you enter a date on which the hold will reactivate and you will resume moving forward in the queue.
To get started, go to krl.org. Sign into your account and go to your Holds list.
Two steps to pause movement on a hold list:
- Check one or more boxes and then click ‘Suspend/Reactivate Selected’
- Enter the date (mm/dd/yy) you would like to resume moving forward in the queue and then click 'Submit'
If you’d like a demonstration, stop by one of our locations and we’ll walk you through the process.
