Attention 12-18 year olds! Do you love to read? Do you like keeping up on the newest YA titles? And, do you love giving your opinions on books? If you answered yes to these questions, be part of Teens’ Top Ten!

Teens’ Top Ten (TTT) is a national teen choice award sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). The initial nominations for the award are chosen by teen book groups in sixteen libraries throughout the country, including ours. KRL teens have been participating for 3 years, and Kitsap teens have written 1,550 reviews.

As part of the program, publishers send us advanced reader copies of teen books.  You get to choose what books you want to read and nominate.

There are monthly meetings held in Bainbridge, Poulsbo, and Port Orchard. The meetings are a time to get new books, write reviews, and talk about what you’ve liked (and disliked). Here are the upcoming meeting dates:

Bainbridge High School- 1st Mondays during lunch, in the library

Eagle Harbor High School- 4th Mondays during lunch, Jillian’s room

Hyla Middle School- 2nd Tuesdays during lunch, Kim’s room

Odyssey Middle School- 2nd Fridays during lunch, Liz’s room

Woodward Middle School- 2nd Mondays during lunch, in the library

Poulsbo Library- Fridays, Dec. 18 & Jan. 15, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

In addition, some the reviews will be featured twice a month on SLJTeen, an online newsletter from School Library Journal

Here's the reviews from the latest edition, reviewing titles. To see all the Kitsap reviews from past issues, head here and click on the articles that say they are by "Kitsap Regional Library YA Book Groups".

School Library Journal has 38,000 online subscribers and is the go-to publication for youth librarians in public and school libraries, so this is a huge honor.

Thank you to all of our reviewers!
