People listen to audiobooks while traveling, gardening, cooking, cleaning, walking and even while falling asleep.  The ability to download audiobooks has made it easier to read no matter where you are or what you’re doing.

Getting started involves a one-time set up process: First, you need to download some software to your computer, laptop, phone or tablet.  Then, you are prompted to create an OverDrive account.

OverDrive has created videos to walk you through the process. If you prefer paper, KRL has created a printable guide for Apple, Android and Kindle devices.

Once you are set up, downloading from the library involves three steps:

1. Browsing the catalog

2. Checking out the title of your choice

3. Downloading the title to your computer or device

This process isn’t difficult, but it’s not intuitive.  In addition, devices and software are always changing!  To help answer any questions that might come up for you, KRL offers workshops, walk-in help, and one-on-one appointments.

By going to a workshop you will learn why the process works as it does. With that foundation you will be prepared to handle changes as this service evolves.

By attending a workshop or a walk-in session, you will benefit from the questions and experiences of others.

By going to a workshop, a walk-in session, or making an appointment you’ll have someone walk you through the process.

Most important, by going to a workshop, a walk-in session, or making an appointment you’ll make a human connection you can tap into for future questions.

We look forward to seeing you!
