I have been a lifetime lover of Legos. I have fond memories of spending entire afternoons with my older brother constructing creations conjured from our vivid imaginations just to tear them apart and start the adventure all over again. As Legos are becoming more and more prevalent as a teaching tool in education, I am thrilled that not only does my adventure not have to end, but that more and more adventures are being inspired each and every day.

Legos offer so much more than the opportunity to play, these blocks directly lend themselves to the development of 21st Century Skills by encouraging critical thinking when planning and designing, inspiring creativity and innovation, and presenting opportunities for collaboration and communication.  These benefits have not gone unnoticed in the 67 years since these colorful blocks were first released, and as time goes on more and more opportunities to use Legos in skill development arise. Kids are using these blocks to engineer robots and rovers, design complicated mazes, and even imagine improvements in existing technology and architecture to name just a few of the countless innovative project ideas using Legos.
