The Vision 2010 Strategic Plan emerged from the dedicated efforts of over 1,000 individuals contributing their thoughts, ideas and concerns; each helping to assure that the resulting plan would meet the challenges ahead. A series of 9 public meetings attended by library patrons, 43 one-on-one community leader interviews, 959 library user surveys, and detailed Library staff and volunteer input; were evaluated by a 13 member oversight committee to direct the Vision 2010 Strategic Plan.

Three Strategic Initiatives were identified; each focusing on the public’s expectations for library services.

1. Provide optimum access to library resources, services, and buildings for all county residents.
2. Offer an outstanding collection of materials and array of services that reflects community needs and interests.
3. Ensure effective, efficient, and user-focused infrastructure that supports the Library’s mission and goals.
