If you or someone you know is disabled or physically unable to get to either a branch library or the bookmobile, you can still take advantage of your library.

OUTREACH SERVICES

Outreach Service provides regular visits to people in their homes or in convalescent centers, nursing homes, and retirement communities. Large-type books are provided in each of the Kitsap Regional Library branches and in deposit collections through arranged service with care facilities in the County. Outreach Service materials include:

  • large-print books for the visually-impaired
  • books-on-tape
  • bi-folkal kits (multi-media memory-enhancement collections of items such as photographs or other materials related to events or time periods). Bi-folkal kits are available for loan to staff to use in their facilities.
  • collections of large-type books deposited in centers that service "home-bound" populations.

For further information, please call the Outreach Department, 360-405-9123.

For information about the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library, please call 1-800-542-0866. Their service, books-on-tape and tape players, is provided by mail.

BOOKMOBILE SERVICES

Click here for the Bookmobile schedule.

Bookmobile Services are offered primarily in the rural areas of Kitsap County where there are fewer branch libraries. The Bookmobile, a branch library on wheels, makes twenty-seven stops every two weeks and provides:

  • books for readers of all ages
  • audiotapes and videotapes
  • current magazines
  • reserve service for requested items

Items that are checked out on the Bookmobile may be returned to other branches.

For further information about Bookmobile service, please call 360-405-9112.
