Book Discussions - Book discussions are a forum where readers can come together and talk about books and the reading experience. You'll find when your library branch book group will be meeting and what we'll be reading. Newcomers are always welcome!

Children's Events - We have storytimes for babies, for toddlers and for families. There are craft projects for all ages and plenty of fun events for your school-age child.

Opera Previews - Want to know more about the opera? Discover the Seattle Opera! In addition to the Seattle Opera's own lectures and educational events, the Kitsap Regional Library offers free opera lectures throughout the year led by educator and opera expert Norm Hollingshead.

Special Events - There are film nights, game nights, crafts and more. The Sylvan Way Branch hosts the "Peninsula Romance Writer's Association" on the third Saturday each month. See more details here.

Sylvan Way Library Features
Sylvan Way Library is Kitsap Regional Library's largest branch. The 35,000-square-foot building, completed in 1978 with public funds, includes the service center. Features: • over 125,000 books and magazines, including a large reference collection • over 40 public computers • meeting room facilities • a study room • a teen center • microfilm readers • wishing well • a park-like setting, including outdoor areas for reading and picnicking on sunny days.

Sylvan Way Library currently offers three storytimes: • Pajama Storytime on Tuesdays at 7 p.m., for ages 2 to 8 • Baby Storytime on Wednesdays at 10:30, for infants up to 18 months old • Toddler Storytime on Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m., for ages 18 months to 3 years old • Storytime for Little Ones on Fridays at 10:30, for ages 18 months to 6 years

Sylvan Way Library has a page on MySpace, SylvanTeenSpace. Monthly teen activities include: • Teen Anime the second Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m. • Teen Computer Lab the third Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m. • Teen Gaming Night the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Please see the events calendar for more details.
