When considering a movie title for the collection, KRL uses the following criteria:
1) Positive reviews from respected critics.
2) Was the title nominated for or win any awards?
3) Public interest:
a. Box office/rental/sales receipts
b. Number of purchase requests received
c. Media buzz
d. How many other libraries own the title?
e. Ratings (for TV)
4) Video version of a popular book.
5) The library attempts to have the body of work by
notable actors and directors.
6) Can the title be considered a Classic?
7) Regional interest: Titles based in this area or titles featuring cast and crew
from this area.
8) The library does not purchase movies based on MPAA ratings.
