What if all of Kitsap read the same book? What Conversations can we spark?
Each year in October, Kitsap Regional Library selects one book and invites all of Kitsap to connect through this shared experience. Our 2013 selection, The Leisure Seeker” by Michael Zadoorian, is joyous, painful, moving, tragic and mysterious. Follow Ella and John on one last road trip. Then join the conversation.
TAKE THIS BOOK!
This year, as part of One Book, One Community, Kitsap Regional Library has released hundreds of copies of “The Leisure Seeker” all across Kitsap County. These books could be anywhere. We have registered each one with the website www.bookcrossing.com allowing you to assign books a unique ID number. With this number you can see where your copy of the book has been and what others had to say. When you release your copy you can see where it goes next!
During October, there are many ways to join the conversation. Michael Zadoorian, the author of "The Leisure Seeker," will be joining us at our annual Fall at the Mall for a conversation with journalist and host of the television show Well Read, Terry Tazioli. Michael will also make and appearance at the Kitsap Regional Library Foundation's signature Author! Author! event hosted by best-selling Seattle7 author Jennie Shortridge, and will lead a book discussion at McCormick Woods with Susan Brown Tinidad.
Actors Jennifer Waldron and John Kenning bring the book to life at select KRL locations for a Readers Theatre, a staged reading of selections of The Leisure Seeker directed by Diane Bankart. You can also join us for any number of presentations and book discussions based on the themes of the book.
