Join us at the Poulsbo library for a free 3D Design and Printing open lab. Make original designs using the Sketchup or Sculptris app, and print your unique creations right then and there!

*Completion of the 3D Printing Open Lab Crash Course on December 16th is required to be able to attend this event*

3D Printing Open Lab Crash Course

Saturday, December 16, 2017 -
1:00pm to 4:00pm

Learn the basics of 3D printing from object design to 3D modeling and printing in this free crash course. We will use SketchUp and Sculptris to create figures to print at the library. Snacks will be provided.

Participants of this crash course and past 3D Printing Camp will be eligible to attend future free monthly 3D printing open labs on December 20, January 24, and February 14.

Make Do Share: The Story of a Library Intern

Make Do Share internships are supported by a grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services and provide teens and young adults (ages 16-25) with the opportunity to gain real world job experience while developing 21st century skills. They also help to make the Library's youth STEM programs more awesome!

Solar S’more Ovens

Going green can be tasty! Did you know that you can make s’mores in a solar oven? That was the experiment we did this week at the library. Here are instructions so you can try this at home. Please note that this project requires the use of sharp tools and high temperatures, so grab a grown-up and take precautions. Let’s get started!

Put your game face on for this incredible three-day video game jam at the Poulsbo location. Learn the basics of video game design, touching on disciplines from world design to user interface to game feel. Use green screen technology and the Scratch user interface to design your own video game starring yourself. Snacks provided.

Join us for a fun, creative summer camp at the Library's Poulsbo location. Under the guidance of teen leaders, work with a group of other 4th - 8th graders to turn a hilarious children's book into a short film. Learn the filmmaking process from beginning to end including:

  • Storyboarding
  • Script Writing
  • Set & Costume Design
  • Acting
  • Directing
  • Cinematography
  • Editing

Take home a copy of your creative masterpiece at the end of the camp. Snacks will be provided.
