Kitsap Eco Kids: Salmon StoryWalk®

Families can enjoy Kitsap Salmon Tours independently by strolling through the pages of "Run Salmon Run" by Bobs & Lolo at Dickerson Creek Salmon Haven. Engaging story and interactive elements will help young children understand the salmon lifecycle and the importance of this keystone species.  This program is offered in partnership with the Stormwater Division of Kitsap County Public Works.  The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Downtown Port Orchard Storywalk®

Stroll through the pages of a story scattered throughout downtown Port Orchard. "Rain Before Rainbows" by Smriti Prasadam-Halls features a message of hope and resilience supported by David Litchfield's gorgeous and vibrant artwork, and may inspire you to share your story of both rain and rainbows in a community story project. Outdoor Explorers: Interactive StoryWalk®

Poulsbo Parks and Recreation joins with the Library to offer an opportunity for kids and families to experience a story in a new way. During the month of October, families can visit Raab Park to: engage with a story experience nature learn local history and more! After experiencing the StoryWalk®, stop by the Poulsbo branch to pick up a take-home activity during open hours, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Discovery Play Days: StoryWalk "About Birds"

Update: Due to the destruction of several StoryWalk Posts by vandals, the StoryWalk has been taken down. We apologize for those who had plans to do this in the next 8 days. Walk down the Clear Creek Trail while reading "About Birds" by Cathryn Sill along the way. Activity kits can be picked up from the Silverdale branch to enhance the learning experience. After experiencing the StoryWalk® featuring the book A Perfect Day by Sarah S. Discovery Play Days: StoryWalk "At the Marsh in the Meadow"

Stroll through the pages of a book while exploring a local marsh ecosystem and enjoy fun learning activities with an activity kit. Activity kits can be picked up at the Silverdale branch during open hours. WSU Extension has made it possible for groups of 5 to sign up for a time slot and experience the StoryWalk with insights from WSU Extension Stream Stewards Thursday July, 22 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Masks are required for all attendees. Bainbridge Island StoryWalk

Stroll through the pages of a story in Sakai Park, anytime during park hours. Pick up an activity kit from the Bainbridge Island branch. In partnership with Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District and Washington Talking Book & Braille Library. Patrons who are unable to read standard print due to visual impairment, physical disability, or reading disability can request accommodation from the Library.

Discovery Play Days: "Between the Tides" StoryWalk

Stroll through the pages of a book at Old Mill Park and explore our local waterfront ecosystem with the help of an activity kit. Activity kits can be picked up at the Silverdale branch during open hours. Discovery Play Days are presented in partnership with the Clear Creek Trail Task Force. When exploring the shore, wear beach walking shoes or boots, and don't forget your sunscreen! The Clear Creek Trail Task Force and WSU Extension Beach Naturalists have made it possible for families to sign up for personal 20-minute tours of the intertidal zone on Wednesday, June 23, 10:30 a.m.- noon. qa'qad Stormwater Park StoryWalk®

Stroll through the pages of a story exploring the One Book, One Community theme of hope and resilience in Manchester's Qa'qad Stormwater Park.  This program is offered in partnership with the Stormwater Division of Kitsap County Public Works, and with the support of the Friends of Manchester Library.   The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
