Downtown Port Orchard Storywalk®

Celebrate the return of spring with a stroll through the pages of a story scattered throughout downtown Port Orchard. To complement what you find in Kadir Nelson's "If You Plant a Seed," visit the Port Orchard library for an activity kit (Mon. - Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) which includes your very own seeds to plant and tend as the weather becomes warmer.

qa'qad Stormwater Park StoryWalk®

Stroll through the pages of a book in Manchester's qa'qad Stormwater Park.  Pick up an activity kit at Manchester Library (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday).  This program is offered in partnership with the Stormwater Division of Kitsap County Public Works, and with the support of the Friends of Manchester Library.   The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.  

Kitsap Eco Kids: Clear Creek Tree Team

​You can help salmon thrive and orcas survive by adopting a tree to plant along Clear Creek to provide shade and shelter for salmon. Drive up to pick up your baby tree and care instructions at our adoption event. Help the tree grow strong over the summer and ready it for the planting party along the Clear Creek Trail during Orca Recovery Day in mid-October. Trees can also be planted on your personal property. In partnership with the Clear Creek Task Force whose members provide the trees, dirt and pots.  

Dear Friend: Letter Writing Campaign

Write letters to members of our community experiencing isolation due to the pandemic. Pick up a letter writing kit, write a letter, and return it to the library.  We’ll distribute letters with the help of our Mobile Services team and our community partners at Bailey Manor.

Bring your LEGOs, and let's build a better world--one brick at a time! The program will feature a brief topic discussion that will result in building a related structure.
