Kick-off October with a kit to help discover your family stories as we honor Indigenous People's Day and celebrate National Family History Month. Available during library hours.
Makers of all build-abilities will create three dimensional seasonal decorations. Winter scene dioramas and "ginger-box" houses will be featured. Space and supplies are limited to the first 25 participants.
The time has come to plant the saplings you have been caring for all summer along the banks of Clear Creek! There will be plenty of plants provided as well, so anyone can participate in Orca Recovery Day. By planting trees and native plants along Clear Creek we help salmon survive and local orca population thrive. Our planting location has moved to the Clear Creek Trail's Pedestrian Bridge off Kitsap Place, behind Ross Dress for Less. Clear Creek Task Force naturalists will be on hand to direct the planting and provide tools. Planting parties can be no larger than 6 people and arrive during the selected time slot. Celebrate National Estuary week with a special story walk at Point No Point Lightstation and County Park. Follow the trail for a story and learn about critical efforts by our friends at Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement group to help protect and restore the marsh's habitat.
