Bainbridge Branch Shines on Solar Power

The Bainbridge Island branch now features solar panels, offering enhanced energy efficiency and sustainability thanks to the work of Bainbridge Public Library Inc., the nonprofit that owns the buildingBainbridge Public Library operates and maintains the library building and grounds through community donations and grants, while Kitsap Regional Library provides the branch’s services, staff, and collections

While the branch was undergoing upgrades, staff and community partners worked together to bring Library programs and services to partner locations across the island:

  • Our Mobile Services team, opens a new window quickly set up hold pick-ups and item drop-off services at the Strawberry Hill Center.
  • The Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District hosted Storytimes, Island Film Group, Teen Art, and hold pick-ups.
  • The Bainbridge Island Senior Center provided space for Medicare Walk-In Clinics.
  • The Kids Discovery Museum offered a construction zone for Builders’ Club.

We are incredibly grateful to all our partners. Thank you for helping make these programs possible!

The new solar panels will allow the Bainbridge Island branch to operate more efficiently and sustainably for many years to come, benefiting both our community and our planet.
