Vivid Scans, Secure Storage, and Even Translation: It’s Easy with Scan EZ

Yes, free printing at the Library is great, but our amazing scanners also handle unique and powerful jobs. Books, documents, and photos can be scanned into a Scan EZ station and then, within moments, converted to PDF, JPEG, HTML, or MP3 files, or even translated into another language!

As the name implies, using the Scan EZ is, in fact, easy! Click the "Touch Here to Start" button on the main screen, select the scanner you'll use, then choose what type of job you'd like the scanner to perform.

After installing the Scan EZ stations at our Bainbridge, Poulsbo, Silverdale, and Sylvan Way branches last summer, we've found it's amazingly simple to complete previously time-consuming and challenging tasks. On average, our Scan EZ stations process nearly 100 pages per day. Since their installation, patrons have scanned tens of thousands of pages, and we anticipate these numbers will only continue to rise as more people discover what these stations can do.

So far, patrons and library staff have used Scan EZ to:

  • Restore and save beloved family photos and archival newspaper articles to digital JPG and PDF files
  • Convert text to audio—scanning documents into MP3 files that can be played aloud, allowing the user to listen to the text
  • Sign documents like rental lease agreements, then scan the signed document to an email that can be sent to all relevant parties
  • Scan ID cards into a high-resolution digital document for use in digital applications
