Levy Update

From the Director

We’re excited to share that initial results show Library Levy Proposition 1 passing with 59.63% of the vote!

On behalf of Kitsap Regional Library’s staff, partners, and trustees, thank you to everyone who participated in this important election. Your engagement, thoughtful conversation, and overwhelming support have been both inspiring and humbling.

We’re deeply grateful for the strong sense of civic responsibility our community has shown, and for your belief in the vital role the Library plays in the lives of people across Kitsap. Your support isn’t just a vote of confidence; it’s a shared commitment to the future we’re building together.

Your Support Makes It Possible

Thanks to you, Kitsap Regional Library will continue to:

  • Keep all nine library locations open with consistent hours
  • Support early learning, teen development, and workforce readiness
  • Maintain current, relevant, and useful technology and collections
  • Provide welcoming, safe, and inclusive library spaces for everyone

Looking Ahead

These priorities guide our work every day, and we are excited to move ahead with your support behind us. This levy sets the Library on a sustainable path for the next seven to ten years, allowing us to focus on long-term planning and continued service to the community.

Your feedback, ideas, and dreams have shaped our libraries. In September, we’ll launch a community survey where we invite you to continue to guide us, sharing what matters most to you.

Whether you supported the levy or not, please know that we are always listening. Your voice matters. Our commitment remains: to build a library system that is equitable, accessible, and responsive to every Kitsap resident.

Together, we dream bigger and reach further. The future is brighter because of you.

With gratitude,

Jason Driver
