Kitsap Regional Library Foundation FAQs

  • The Kitsap Regional Library Foundation is the official charitable gift-receiving agent for Kitsap Regional Library. It is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The Foundation secures funds that enable us the flexibility to innovate and adapt to changing community needs. The Foundation's contributions empower us to amplify public funds, extend tech access, enhance facilities, and pioneer new programs. These fundraising activities not only bring financial benefits but also build social bonds. Through collaboration, we foster a giving culture that inspires future generations.

Friends of the Library FAQs

  • Friends of the Library groups are organized at most Kitsap Regional Library locations. Through fundraising events such as book sales, Friends groups raise money for equipment, materials, and other library projects not provided for in the Library's budget.

  • Joining a Friends of the Library group is a wonderful way to support your Library location.

As a member of a Friends group you may:

    • Donate your skills and time.
    • Serve as a volunteer at special Library events.
    • Promoting the Library's services and resources.
    • Volunteer at Friends of the Library book sales.

Most of the Friends groups ask that members pay nominal annual dues, around $5 per year and volunteer a limited amount of time to fundraising projects, community events and meeting attendance.

If you are interested in joining a local Friends group, you are encouraged to come to a meeting or come visit the location you are interested in participating.
